G15 & g320 issue joint letter to Housing Secretary on proposed planning changes

The G15 and the g320, which represents a group of small housing associations across London, have written a joint letter to Robert Jenrick, the Housing Secretary, raising concerns over the Government’s proposed changes to the planning system.

In summary the concerns listed in the letter include:

  • Proposals to increase the threshold above which developers must make affordable housing contributions under Section 106

  • The (now deferred) proposal that First Homes make up 25% of affordable housing delivered under Section 106

  • Proposals to replace S106 and the Community Infrastructure Levy with a new fixed levy.
