Chair £7,000 and Committee Chair £3,750 per annum

It is an exciting time to be joining Women’s Pioneer Housing (WPH) and our Board. 2026 will be a significant and milestone year for us as we proudly complete two large developments which means we will grow to more than 1,000 properties, becoming a fully Registered Provider.

In the same year we have four Board members completing their tenure limit and we are recruiting to the posts of Chair and three Committee Chairs for our Audit and Risk, Development & Asset Management and People & Governance Committees. We aim to complete the recruitment of our new WPH Chair first, and then involve the successful appointee in the recruitment of our Committee Chairs. We welcome interest and applications for all four posts.

WPH was founded by suffragists in 1920, with the aim of providing women with quality, affordable homes; and over 100 years later we continue that commitment and passion. Our aim is to challenge gender-inequality and provide much-needed homes for women to offer access to safe, secure and quality homes, and enabling women to live a good quality of life.

We are seeking people to join our Board that will bring experience, leadership, challenge, drive and support, to inspire and enable us to continue our journey and to realise our vision and goals.

We are interested in attracting a range of applicants to develop and maintain a strong skills mix and diversity across our Board. Applicants with the following will be particularly welcomed: previous executive, Committee Chair and NED experience for the post of Chair and ideally experience of the housing sector and regulation. For our Committee Chair posts, NED and executive level leadership experience together with a professional background relevant to the committee applied for. Recruiting for a breadth of posts, the successful candidates might come from a range of sectors but will bring enthusiasm and a commitment to make a real contribution to WPH.

Enthusiastic about one of our Board opportunities? Have some questions? Do get in touch with Sue Manning, Director, Forest HR. Sue will be delighted to speak with you and provide an information pack which has a wealth of information on the roles.

If you are interested in joining us to make a real difference, we look forward to receiving an application from you.

Please apply by providing:

  • An up to date CV covering both your leadership experience together with experience in non-executive roles.

  • A brief supporting statement, which covers your reason for applying and how you feel you meet our requirements.

  • Not part of the formal selection process, it would also be appreciated if you could complete the equal opportunity monitoring and declaration of interests’ forms. Copies of these forms are available for you to download separately.

Please indicate which role(s) you are interested in i.e Chair and/or Committee Chair, and confirm the specific Committee Chair role you are applying for.

You are welcome to apply for more than one post. The Chair of the Board recruitment will be taking place first.

A copy of the recruitment information pack and the equality and diversity monitoring form can be downloaded from the Women's Pioneer Housing (news section) or the Forest HR website.
